Next on Netflix 2025

The challenge was not simply how to animate a long list. It was how to make that list feel like the ending. For the 2025 Next on Netflix campaign, we needed to close an energetic live-action film with hundreds of titles and premiere dates without turning its final moments into fine print.

Brief

Netflix had an enormous amount of information to communicate, spanning an entire year of programming.

The sequence needed to remain legible, carry the momentum of the film, and feel fully integrated with Netflix’s brand language. A conventional end card would have stopped the story just when it needed to peak.

Approach

Using Netflix’s Rolling Text system as a foundation, we tested a wide range of compositions, pacing options, and spatial treatments.

The breakthrough came when we stopped treating the titles as an overlay and placed them inside the scene. As the text traveled overhead, the central character appeared to look up toward it, connecting the typography to the live-action performance.

That simple spatial relationship gave the information scale, direction, and a role in the story.

Role

I led the motion direction and production, working closely with Netflix’s Design Lead, our internal creative and production teams, and I was the main artist developing the sequence.

My role included shaping the motion approach, directing the rounds of design and animation, managing the schedule and team, and helping hundreds of explorations move toward one clear solution without losing momentum along the way.

A dense end card transformed into the final visual beat of the film.

The sequence delivered the full slate without sacrificing pace, giving the campaign a finish that felt as large and energetic as the year of programming it introduced.
